Pixel Perfect Photography
Interview with Founder Jordan Block
Jordan Block
Founder and Lead Photographer
Conducted by Mirage Thrams, Public Relations Strategist, Just Like a Mirage PR
Introduction
In this exclusive conversation, Mirage Thrams, Public Relations Strategist, Cultural Architect, and Founder of Just Like a Mirage PR, sits down with Jordan Block, founder and lead photographer of Pixel Perfect Photography. Based in Los Angeles, Block’s studio has redefined visual storytelling through authenticity, representation, and craft. His signature ethos—“catching the truth between frames”—centers on honesty and emotional resonance, values that have made Pixel Perfect one of the city’s most sought-after creative studios.
Together, Thrams and Block trace the intersection of image and narrative—where mediums meet to reveal artistic authenticity.
Transcript
MIRAGE THRAMS:
Jordan, Pixel Perfect Photography is known for its emotional precision. What inspired the idea of “catching the truth between frames”?
JORDAN BLOCK:
It came from watching people change the moment the lens finds them. They pose. They brace. But I’ve always been drawn to the in-between—the second after the pose, the breath before the laugh. That’s where truth hides. Pixel Perfect was born to honor those unscripted seconds.
MIRAGE THRAMS:
That approach feels intimate—almost confessional. How do you translate that kind of emotional access into your technical process?
JORDAN BLOCK:
It starts with listening. I listen longer than I shoot. When people feel heard, they stop performing. Then the camera becomes a witness, not a wall. That’s when we catch something real.
MIRAGE THRAMS:
Your new campaign, Frame the Feeling, captures that same quiet intensity. What do you hope the public experiences through it?
JORDAN BLOCK:
I want stillness. We live in an endless scroll of images that barely touch us. Frame the Feeling is about creating a pause—a moment where someone feels instead of reacts. The goal is connection, not consumption.
MIRAGE THRAMS:
Los Angeles is full of photographers. What makes Pixel Perfect distinct in such a competitive visual landscape?
JORDAN BLOCK:
We resist gloss. We embrace texture. LA loves surfaces—we’re about depth. I don’t want to make people look perfect; I want to make them look true. The city has enough image factories. We’re a truth studio.
MIRAGE THRAMS:
Representation is core to your practice. What does that mean in action, not just intention?
JORDAN BLOCK:
Representation is authorship—who’s behind the lens, who gets to define beauty, who gets paid to tell the story. Every choice—lighting, casting, collaboration—comes from that awareness. Authenticity is an ethical stance, not a style.
MIRAGE THRAMS:
What’s next for Pixel Perfect Photography?
JORDAN BLOCK:
We’re building a mentorship program for emerging photographers from underrepresented communities. It’s not charity; it’s sustainability. We’re teaching access, craft, and business integrity. Representation has to become infrastructure, not just imagery.
MIRAGE THRAMS:
That’s profound. Thank you, Jordan—for the clarity, and for reminding us that truth still photographs beautifully.
JORDAN BLOCK:
Thank you, Mirage. Truth always develops in the dark first.
